Hand 9 Drawing


Day 9 is done. I look at the previous hands I've drawn and don't see much of an improvement yet but I am hopeful still I will see change soon.  One thing I think we all need to do is realize true change does not come quickly, and that computers don't help us get there any faster.  I am convinced that true change still requires blood, sweat and tears...and patience.

Hand 66

  And finally... here is my next hand drawing!  Been quite awhile, and 2020 has been quite the year. I can only say I'm glad I haven't given up on my goal of #100DaysOfHands. I liked the composition with the 2 hands holding the rose softly. I used Micron black pens to outline the hands/rose, then used colored pencils to finish it off. I think the lines have an expressive quality, and the soft colors add an extra layer of expressiveness to the drawing. Hope to have another drawing soon!

Hand 65

Here is my hand 65, just can't believe I've not had the time to draw for so long. Last year was very difficult personally, sure hope I will finish this #100DaysOfHands before the end of 2020. Made myself a promise I'll finish what I started! I drew this hand in colored pencil—Having not drawn for so long don't think it's that bad.  I feel the shadows really help round out the hand. And the layered colors really worked well together helping the pencil drawing look somewhat like a painting. The purple fingernails make for a rich color contrast with the warm hand tones!

Hand 64

Here is my hand 64!  This was a difficult drawing probably because of the perspective and multiple fine lines in hand. But I'm thankful I was able to find time to draw this today. Happy Presidents' Day and hoping you find some time today for friends/family/alone time...
