Dancing With Missing Teeth

My niece who recently lost 2 front teeth within 2 days wanted me to draw this picture of her and I excitedly took on her request!  I think this picture captures pure bliss and innocence.  To me, it's a moment of childhood joy that many of us can remember so well - dancing around in circles without a care in the world.

We can all feel like this now and again, maybe even just by closing our eyes and imagining ourselves dancing or flying.  It's a feeling of forgetting what is going on around us and just loving the feeling of being free to do whatever we want to do.

Take this opportunity to, if nothing else, smile at others you meet this week - it makes life better :)

Hand 66

  And finally... here is my next hand drawing!  Been quite awhile, and 2020 has been quite the year. I can only say I'm glad I haven't given up on my goal of #100DaysOfHands. I liked the composition with the 2 hands holding the rose softly. I used Micron black pens to outline the hands/rose, then used colored pencils to finish it off. I think the lines have an expressive quality, and the soft colors add an extra layer of expressiveness to the drawing. Hope to have another drawing soon!

Hand 63

Here is my hand #63, another attempt at using a thin black drawing pen. I am still struggling with perspective and want to continue trying to get better at it!  I like the feeling though of the dark outlined areas, it helps give the hand more strength and emotion.  I will probably continue black ink again next time!

Day 5 Hand Drawing

Well here is my day 5 hand, I went a new direction with watercolor :)  This is very different for me since I haven't done watercolor in probably over 5 years!  It was great to try it out again, even though I don't particularly love the medium.  I do like the free-flow feel it has, very clean and fresh. I started out doing the outline of the hand in pencil, so technically this started out as a hand drawing and became a small painting.  I like how this feels bold and almost statuesque if that makes any sense. We'll see where the hand goes tomorrow!
